BRUTAL TEST OF TRW XPS DISC in THAILAND
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LP6iVbQ5QI
Developed for the image conscious driver who wants to fit a great looking disc rotor with enhanced performance, TRW’s new range of XPS disc rotors are a successful addition to TRW’s range of braking parts.
Performance Slots help with the removal of gases produced during braking, helping to reduce fade and keep the rotor temperature lower which reduces stopping distances. The slots also help the rotors stay clean, helping to keep the sporty look for longer.
Every XPS rotor is balanced using edge-grinding for a longer lasting performance and to help reduce vibrations which cause noise in braking.
Testing
Tested at TRW’s facilities in the UK, the XPS disc rotors proved they are more than up to the challenge of providing great performance. Using a ‘crack initiation’ test, TRW’s engineers put an XPS rotor through 140 cycles of testing (the equivalent of 560 brake applications). The picture shows that the XPS disc rotor still hadn’t cracked and more than exceeded the 100 cycles normally expected from this test. As this graph shows, the rotors reached almost 600°C in the tests and still didnt crack.
Eye-catching Design
The attractive, sporty looking design of XPS rotors will help to enhance the look of any vehicle. The striking red colour stands out through the hubcaps and is always a talking point amongst drivers.
Tighter tolerances on brake discs
When we design our Original Equipment, we control every detail of every part, and we don’t compromise on raw materials, or on machining tolerances. All our castings are made of top-quality GG20 material or GG15HC for High Carbon. And we keep tight control on three other machining tolerances: the DTV (Disc Thickness Variation) never exceeds 12 µm; the Run Out never exceeds 30 µm; and the central hole is fixed at H8 norm. That means hassle free fitment and comfortable performance without surprises.
Disc brakes with cast iron safety
Because we’re committed to producing the safest and highest quality brake discs, a carefully controlled mixture of raw materials is used to produce the finest grey cast iron. Machining process quality isn’t enough – it has to be the best possible mix from the initial casting for the best end performance quality.
